Q&A – Meet Jim!

The Patrington Haven Leisure Park family has grown! As some of you may know we have recently expanded our remarkable team at Guy’s Café Bar & Restaurant and we’d like to introduce our new Front Of House Manager, Jim!

We did a short Q&A with Jim so you can get to know him a little better. If you see him around the restaurant be sure to stop him for a quick chat!

1. Introduce yourself (Name, age, where you’re from, job title)?

Hi, my names James Scruton (Jim), I’m 43 years old, I live in Cottingham (and Sherringham Way) and I am the Front of House Manager at Guy’s Café Bar & Restaurant.

2. How long have you been working at PH?

I’ve been here for just over two months

3. How did this job come about?

I was headhunted by Gareth!! After working with Gareth at the Holiday Inn, he knew my strengths and capabilities of fulfilling the role and after a few failed attempts to get me here, I finally decided to give it a go and never looked back!

4. Where have you worked before?

I ran my own pub in the village of Paull for 7 years (The Royal Oak) until 2011. Following there I was manager of a sports centre in West Hull for three years until joining Holiday Inn Hull Marina. I took a break from the industry in 2016 when I went to work for Kingstown Furniture for just short of three years.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Following my beloved Hull Kingston Rovers and spending time with the family.

6. What do you enjoy the most about working at PH?

Having the integration with the owners, locals and holiday makers and making sure that their time in the country club is enjoyable.

Fosters & Coke Zero

8. Favourite meal?

Chicken Fajita

9. Favourite holiday destination?

Tenerife

10. What sport teams do you support?

Hull City, Liverpool and Hull Kingston Rovers
