We Aim To Put The Green In The Green And Gold

We’re doing our bit here at Patrington Haven Leisure Park. We’re always looking at ways we can become even more environmentally friendly and help to improve the local environment. Whether it’s paper straws or mass recycling, we’re doing as much as we can.

To celebrate World Environment Day on the 5th June 2018 we’ve wrote a short blog about going green here on the park.

Did you know your household waste is recycled?

Yes that’s right, all of the waste you put out for us to collect is recycled off site. Best of all is, you don’t have to go through the annoying job of sorting your waste into separate bins. This means you don’t have to worry you’re not doing your bit, we’ve got it all taken care for you.

We also do our upmost to recycle all of the park’s waste. Whether that’s the red recycling bins that are stationed around the office or the giant skips where plastic, wood, metal and cardboard is sorted onsite, we’re working hard to make the park environmentally sustainable.

Here at Patrington Haven Leisure Park we aim to make your life that little bit easier in any way that we can. We have recently launched a new recycling scheme for your garden waste that we hope will benefit our owners and make gardening a more enjoyable experience.

At Patrington Haven, all our static caravans come with your very own garden plot for you to landscape how you wish and we know our owners love to keep their gardens looking stunning. Therefore, please welcome…the new Green Bag!

Each one of our owners can now grab themselves a new green bag for all their grass and plant cuttings and we will empty it daily. Not only is it saving our owners endless trips to recycling centres to empty their grass cuttings, its completely free of charge!

The summer time is all about relaxing in your garden and spending quality time with your family in your holiday home. Therefore, we make it easier for our owners at Patrington Haven, so they can potter in the garden every day if they wish to, it’s not a problem for us!

We’re pleased to announce the green bag garden waste scheme has been a huge success. In April alone, the park recycled around 7 tonnes of green waste which will have a huge impact on the environment. We’ve also noticed buy switching over to the green bags from the one tonne white bags, we’re not throwing as many waste bags into landfill which means we’re saving plastic waste too! We’re really grateful for your support as we couldn’t do it without you.

For 2018 we have developed the new Garden Plot Standard and a Show Garden to allow new & existing owners to see what can be achieved. The show garden will be located at the demonstration area next to the main reception. For information on our garden plots, feel free to get in touch here.

Our maintenance team work hard all year round at Patrington Haven, to keep the park looking beautiful. We are currently getting ready to plant a whopping 9,546 flowers all over the park and that’s just for the summer! Be sure to check out the park when we are in full bloom!
